Gamification

What is gamification?

Simply put, gamification is the integration of gaming mechanics into something preexisting—from training programmes to websites—in order to increase engagement and participation. Notice the term “gaming mechanics” and how it differs from “games,” as this is a key difference between the two.

Gamification does not inherently mean gaming. Instead, it is the utilisation of gaming elements into the structure of something. In this way, it has a specific business-driven purpose beyond simple enjoyment.

Komo is a SaaS platform that allows you to easily create a digital destination filled with branded, interactive content, competitions, gamified experiences and rich media, with proven templates that can be built in minutes. Komo can live anywhere, and no coding is required.

How does the Komo Platform work?

The Komo Platform is a software as a service (SaaS) platform that allows you to create a microsite (a mini website of sorts), called an Engagement Hub, which completely unique to your brand and message. Within the platform are over 50 games, competitions, integrations, rewards and embeds for you to use to your advantage!

Is Komo an app?

The Komo Platform is not an app, but rather a software as a service (Saas) platform where you can build a microsite for your brand or organisation.

Is Komo an agency?

Komo is in fact not an agency! Rather, we are built up of product, marketing, sales and customer success teams that help empower you to maximise attention moments, by cutting through the noise, to drive measurable business growth.

Pricing of the Komo Platform is based on your unique engagement, subscription terms, and the features you require. We know that it’s often costly to build real-time consumer engagement that connects with consumers. But in strategic partnership with Komo, it’s not only simple, but it’s also cost-efficient and the value of our product, which helps lower overall execution costs and achieves proven results, is equally as important as cost.

Are their pricing plans available?

We offer a flexible payment scheme where you can activate individual campaigns whenever and wherever you need to. Purchase credits that are valid for 12 months and run for 30 days at a time. Run multiple campaigns for multiple clients at once with adaptable and tiered pricing that works for you!

Is there a way I can try the platform for free?

If you want to see exactly how the platform works, the best place to visit is our Komo Hub, which showcases each and every card available on the platform and how it works! If you're after something a little more personalised to you and your brand or organisation, you can also request a demo.

Do I build out my Engagement Hub myself?

The simplicity and ease-of-use of the platform allow you to build any consumer promotion in a matter of minutes. We've done the hard yards here, so there is no coding required to build your Engagement Hub! 

What happens when someone visits my Hub?

Users can engage with any content on your Engagement Hub, whether that be a simple embedded image or gif, a click banner that takes them to your website or an immersive competition. You can also build data capture forms into your Hub, which allow you to collect zero and first-party data from your users!

Can I view some examples of Komo's Engagement Hubs?

How can I promote or share my Engagement Hub?

Your Engagement Hub is best shared using an omnichannel distribution approach. 

Engage consumers with a QR code in-stadium on the big screen, across a live broadcast, using OOH, in your brick-and-mortar locations, in-person and online events, or even on product packaging! 

You can also share the link or embed your Hub content across your digital and social channels or via email and SMS.

Data Capture

What is Zero-Party data?

This is data that users willingly and intentionally impart to your brand or business. The aim of providing this information is usually to improve the individual’s user experience, enabling them to be provided with content that is personalised to their needs and wants.

How can I capture data using the Komo Platform?

Absolutely! A simple QR code or barcode can be attached to your coupon and integrated with your POS system (in-store or online), along with location-specific rules so that you're fully in control of redemption.

Communications

Can I send emails and SMS directly from the platform to my audience?

You absolutely can! Send your audience SMS, emails or marketing eDMs entirely from within the Komo Platform. This experience is completely customisable, with the ability to schedule communications for a certain date and time or when triggered by a certain event in your Hub.

Can I opt-out certain users and groups from emails within the platform?

You can! Create opt-out groups of your contacts so that your communications can be as personalised and customised as possible. 

Do emails and SMS within the platform incur a fee?

Yes, they do. The price is location-dependent.
